Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Materials and Preparation: We will use amigurumi cotton yarn in two colors (Color A main and Color B contrast). 2.0 mm crochet hook, 65-70mm wooden ring, rattle box insert, fiberfill, tapestry needle, and black embroidery thread for facial features. Size: 12 cm tall.

Step 2

Head - Rounds 1 to 9: Work in a spiral with Color A. Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]. Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]. Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x6 [18]. Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x6 [24]. Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x6 [30]. Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) x6 [36]. Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x6 [42]. Rnd 8: (6 sc, inc) x6 [48]. Rnd 9: (7 sc, inc) x6 [54].

Step 3

Head - Rounds 10 to 22: Rnds 10-18: work sc in each stitch around [54]. Rnd 19: (7 sc, dec) x6 [48]. Rnd 20: (6 sc, dec) x6 [42]. Rnd 21: (5 sc, dec) x6 [36]. Rnd 22: (4 sc, dec) x6 [30]. Work with even tension and move your stitch marker up at the start of each round.

Step 4

Head - Stuffing and Closing: Place the rattle insert wrapped in fiberfill inside the head. Rnd 23: (3 sc, dec) x6 [24]. Rnd 24: (2 sc, dec) x6 [18]. Rnd 25: (1 sc, dec) x6 [12]. Rnd 26: 6 dec [6]. Fasten off, leaving a 30 cm long tail for sewing.

Step 5

Ears and Muzzle: Ears (x2): Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]. Rnd 2: 6 sc. Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc) x2 [8]. Rnds 4-5: 8 sc. Fasten off. Muzzle: ch 5. Rnd 1: 2 sc, 3 sc in 1 ch, work along opposite side of ch: 1 sc, inc [8]. Rnd 2: inc, 1 sc, 3 inc, 1 sc, 2 inc [14]. Rnd 3: 1 sc, inc, 1 sc, (1 sc, inc) x3, 1 sc, (1 sc, inc) x2 [20]. Rnd 4: 20 sc. Fasten off.

Step 6

Ring Cover, Bow and Assembly: Cover: ch 10, work 30 rows of 8 sc; sew around wooden ring. Bow: ch 11, work 5 rows of 9 sc, pinch center. Sew ears (Rnds 5-6 of head) and muzzle to head. Embroider eyes and nose. Sew bow to base of head. Securely sew head to ring cover.
