Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

TOP START (R1-R6): With green color (C1) and 4.5 mm hook, start with a 6 sc MR. Increase progressively in each round until reaching 18 sc. This section forms the top tip of the tree.

Step 2

FIRST BUBBLE STRIPE: Switch to white color (C2). R7: Work alternating (1 3-dc bubble stitch, 1 sc) 9 times. This creates the first textured row. Switch to light green (C3) to continue.

Step 3

MIDDLE SECTION (R8-R13): With color C3, keep increasing until reaching 33 sc. Keep the stitches firm but don't over-tighten the chenille so it retains its softness.

Step 4

SECOND AND THIRD STRIPE: Repeat the bubble logic in R14 (C2) and then switch to dark green (C1). Continue increasing until R20 (48 sc) and make a new row of 24 bubbles in R21.

Step 5

TREE BASE: After the last bubble stripe in R28, crochet with dark green until R34 reaching 78 sc. R35: In back loops only (BLO), start decreasing to close the cone base.

Step 6

TRUNK (R38-R47): Switch to brown color (C4). Work in the front loops of the base so the trunk stands out. Crochet 30 sc straight for 4 rounds and then decrease to seal the stuffing.

Step 7

KAWAII EYES (x2): With black yarn and 3.5 mm hook, make an 8 sc MR. Close with sl st. Sew them between rounds 23 and 26, leaving 5 stitches of separation between them.

Step 8

FINAL DETAILS: With white yarn, embroider a small light dot in the eyes. With black yarn, embroider the mouth and eyelashes. Make sure the trunk is well-stuffed so the tree stands upright.
