Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
The main colors are Orange (N) and White (B). We'll use Single Crochet (Sc), Increase (Inc), Decrease (Dec). Stitches for each round will be indicated with P and the round with R.
Step 2
The pieces are worked in rounds. It is important to use a stitch marker at the last stitch of each R. (MR = Magic Ring).
Step 3
HEAD (R 1-8): Color N: Start with MR 8 Sc. Gradually increase until R 8 with the sequence (7 Sc, 1 Inc) x6.
Step 4
HEAD (R 9-18): R 9: 54 Sc. Continue gradually increasing in R 10 (with 8 Sc), R 12 (with 9 Sc), R 15 (with 10 Sc) and R 18 (with 11 Sc). Work straight in intermediate rounds.
Step 5
HEAD (R 19-31): R 19-22: 78 Sc. Insert safety eyes between R 19 and R 20 (10 P apart). R 23-31: Gradually decrease, from the sequence (11 Sc, 1 Dec) to (3 Sc, 1 Dec). Stuff firmly before closing.
Step 6
ARMS (2): Color B: MR 6 Sc. Increase to 12 Sc. R 3-5: 12 Sc. Color N: R 6-12: 12 Sc. R 13: (2 Sc, 1 Dec) x3. Stuff halfway. Close the opening with Sc.
Step 7
LEGS (2) AND JOINING: Color B: MR 8 Sc. Increase to 16 Sc (R 3: BLO 16 Sc). R 4-5: 16 Sc. Color N: R 6: 16 Sc. R 7: Increase to 20 Sc. **Join the legs** with 1 ch to form the BODY: R 8: 42 Sc.
Step 8
BODY (R 9-23): R 9: (6 Sc, 1 Inc) x6. R 10-13: 48 Sc. R 14-23: Gradually decrease, from the sequence (6 Sc, 1 Dec) to (3 Sc, 1 Dec). Stuff and fasten off.
Step 9
EARS, TAIL, AND SNOUT: EARS (2): N: MR 5 Sc. Increase to 20 Sc, then 2 R of 20 Sc. TAIL: B: Increase to 14 Sc. N: Increase to 20 Sc. Decrease to 10 Sc. Stuff. SNOUT: N: MR 5 Sc. Increase to 18 Sc. Leave tails for sewing.
Step 10
FINAL ASSEMBLY: Sew the arms (between R 20 and R 21), the tail (between R 12 and R 13), the ears, and the snout. Embroider details: nose (black), eyebrows (brown), whites of the eyes, and cheeks (pink).
