Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Start the head with pale yellow: MR 6 sc, gradually increase to 48 sc following the increase pattern up to round 8.

Step 2
Rounds 9-11: 48 sc straight. Round 12: partial decreases to 42 sc. Rounds 13-16: 42 sc straight.

Step 3
Rounds 17-22: gradually decrease from 36 to 6 sc. Stuff the head firmly before closing.

Step 4
START WITH THE HAT: Make the hat in light brown: MR 6 sc, increase to 12 sc, then 18 sc, 18 sc straight, and increase up to 28 sc in round 6.

Step 5
Fasten off leaving a long tail to sew onto the head.

Step 6
START WITH THE EARS: MR 6 sc in light brown, Round 2: 6 sc, Round 3: increase 1 sc + 5 sc (7) switch to yellow. Round 4: increase 1 sc + 6 sc (8), Round 5: 8 sc.

Step 7
Round 6: sc, increase, 6 sc (9), Rounds 7-8: 9 sc, Round 9: (sc, decrease) x3 = 6 sc. Leave a long tail to sew.

Step 8
START WITH LEGS: Start each leg with MR 6 sc, increase to 12 sc, 12 sc straight, Round 4: (sc, increase) x6 = 18 sc. Join the two legs to continue the body.

Step 9
Round 6: (8 sc, increase) x4 = 40 sc. Rounds 7-8: 40 sc straight. Rounds 9-10: 40 sc following the stitch distribution pattern.

Step 10
Rounds 11-12: partial decreases following pattern, Rounds 13-14: reduce from 36 to 24 sc, Round 15: final reduction to 18 sc leaving a long tail.

Step 11
END WITH ARMS: MR 6 sc, Round 2: increase 1 sc + 5 sc = 7 sc, Round 3: 7 sc, Round 4: sc, increase 1 sc + 5 sc = 8 sc. Leave a long tail to sew onto the body.
