Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Body (Pencil Case): With brown yarn, ch 41. Row 1: skip 1 ch, 1 inc, 38 sc, 1 inc in last ch, turn to the other side: 1 inc, 38 sc, 1 inc (84 sc). Rows 2-5: make increases at the ends until you have 108 sc. Rows 6-19: 108 sc. Row 20: 41 sc, skip 24 sts (for neck), 43 sc (84 sc). Fasten off.
Step 2
Neck Base and Neck: Base (Brown): In the 24-st opening, crochet 2 rows of decreases until closed (6 sc). Neck: Attach yarn to the front loop of the opening, crochet 2 rows of 24 sc in a spiral. Sew the hole between the neck and the body.
Step 3
Zipper: Fold the case in half. With a tapestry needle and the same yarn, sew the 20cm zipper inside the main opening.
Step 4
Head: With brown yarn. Magic ring of 6 sc. Increase 6 sc per row until row 9 (54 sc). Rows 10-15: 54 sc. Row 16: increases (60 sc). Rows 17-19: 60 sc. Place 10mm eyes between R15 and R16. Rows 20-25: decrease to 24 sc. Stuff. Join to the last round of the body's neck.
Step 5
Snout and Embroidery: Snout (Porcelain): Magic ring 6 sc, increase to 18 sc. R4-5: 18 sc. Sew between the eyes. Embroider the nose and mouth in a 'T' shape with Craft yarn.
Step 6
Ears (x2): Brown. Magic ring 6 sc. Increase to 18 sc. R4-5: 18 sc. Sew to the sides of the head (between R4 and R11).
Step 7
Legs (x4): Brown. Magic ring 6 sc. Increase to 24 sc. R5-7: 24 sc. R8-9: dec to 15 sc. Stuff. R10-12: 15 sc, then 4 more sc, fold and close with 7 sc. Sew 2 on the front and 2 on the back of the closed case.
Step 8
Toes (x12): Porcelain. Magic ring of 6 sc. Fasten off. Sew 3 on each paw to form the footprints.
Step 9
Accessories (Collar and Bow): Collar (Solar): ch 26, 25 sc. Wrap around the bear's neck. Bow (Solar): ch 31, 7 rows of 30 sc, sew the ends, pinch the center. Sew on the red collar.
