Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Base and Round 1 (Dark Green): With dark green yarn and a 9.0 mm hook, chain 18. Round 1: Work 1 sc in the second ch from hook, 15 sc, 3 sc in the last chain to turn. Working along the opposite side of the starting chains, work 15 sc and 2 sc in the last ch. Close with 1 sl st in the first sc and ch 1.

Step 2

Round 2 (Dark Green) and Round 3 (Light Green): Round 2: Work 1 sc in each stitch around the base. Close with 1 sl st and ch 1. Round 3: Change to light green yarn and work 1 sc in each stitch around. Close with 1 sl st and ch 1.

Step 3

Round 4 (Light Green) to Round 6 (Dark Green): Round 4: Work 1 sc in each stitch, close with sl st and ch 1. Round 5: Change back to dark green yarn and work 1 sc in each stitch, close with sl st and ch 1. Round 6: Work 1 sc in each stitch with dark green, close with sl st and ch 1.

Step 4

Rounds 7 to 10 (Color Stripes): Round 7: With light green, 1 sc in each st, close with sl st, ch 1. Round 8: With light green, 1 sc in each st, close with sl st, ch 1. Round 9: Retake dark green, 1 sc in each st, close with sl st, ch 1. Round 10: With dark green, 1 sc in each st, close with sl st, ch 1.

Step 5

Rounds 11 to 13 (Body Finish): Round 11: Change to light green, work 1 sc in each st, close with sl st, ch 1. Round 12: Work 1 sc in each st, close with sl st, ch 1. Round 13: With dark green, work the final round of 1 sc in each st, close with sl st and fasten off, weaving in all loose ends.

Step 6

Matching Coin Purse - Finish: Work in sc closing each round with sl st and ch 1: Rnd 3 and 4 in light green; Rnd 5 and 6 in dark green; Rnd 7 and 8 in light green; and Round 9 in dark green. Fasten off. You can sew a zipper and a fabric lining for a boutique finish.
