Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Abbreviations and Materials: ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet. You will need t-shirt yarn and a 9.0 mm hook.
Step 2
Bag Base: Ch 6 and join with 1 sl st forming a ring. Work increases in the round, and upon finishing the base, work 1 rnd of 54 sc in the back loop only.
Step 3
Bag Body: Continue working upwards in a spiral with the fantasy stitch. Close each round with 1 sl st and chain up respectively.
Step 4
Top Edge: At 16 cm height, work 1 full rnd in dc. In this round, work 2 dc in each ch space between the 2 sc from the previous row. Join with sl st and fasten off.
Step 5
Short Handle and Cord: Handle: ch 3 + 1 to turn, work in sc back and forth until 20 cm long. Cord: Simply chain approx. 60 cm. Fasten off both pieces.
Step 6
Final Assembly: Sew the short handle to the sides of the opening on the dc edge. Thread the 60 cm cord between the gaps of the last fantasy stitch rnd to tie the bag shut.
