Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Since we will crochet in a spiral, don’t forget to mark the first stitch of each round.

Step 2
Each bulb measures about 7 cm in length and uses 3 g of base color yarn, making it a great project to use leftover yarn from home.

Step 3
At the end of each bulb, cut the yarn and weave in the ends with a tapestry needle.

Step 4
We start with the color of the light bulb (choose whichever you like) and a 3.5 mm crochet hook. In a magic ring, crochet 6 single crochet stitches. (6)

Step 5
In the second round, crochet 1 single crochet in each stitch. (6)

Step 6
In the third round, make 1 increase in each stitch. (12)

Step 7
3 single crochets + 1 increase. (15)

Step 8
4 single crochets + 1 increase. (18)

Step 9
5 single crochets + 1 increase. (21)

Step 10
6 single crochets + 1 increase. (24)

Step 11
7 single crochets + 1 increase. (27)

Step 12
8 single crochets + 1 increase. (30)

Step 13
For 3 rounds, crochet 1 single crochet in each stitch. (30)

Step 14
3 single crochets + 1 decrease. (24)

Step 15
2 single crochets + 1 decrease. (18)

Step 16
1 single crochet + 1 decrease. (12) Stuff the piece.

Step 17
Using the color for the top and cable (I will be using bright jade), for 3 rounds crochet 1 single crochet in each stitch (12).

Step 18
1 single crochet + 1 decrease. (8) Cut the yarn and close with a tapestry needle.

Step 19
Repeat the steps with different colors as many times as you like.

Step 20
To join the bulbs, make a chain cord using a 3 mm crochet hook.

Step 21
Crochet 25 chains and attach to the top of the bulb with a single crochet. Repeat until all bulbs are connected.
