Additional Information:Ornaments are crocheted in continuous rounds. Any medium-weight yarn can be used. It is recommended to use plastic spheres or old ornaments as a base. Special Stitches: 1. Puff Stitch: [YO, insert hook, pull up long loop] x3 times; YO, pull through 6 loops; YO, pull through remaining 2. 2. V-Puff: 1 Puff, ch 1, 1 Puff in the same space.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

FOUNDATION: Start with a Magic Ring (MR) or ch 5 and sl st in the 5th ch. Small Size: 9 repeats. Medium Size: 10 repeats. Large Size: 12 repeats.

Step 2

ROUND 1: ch 1, *1 Puff St, ch 1* repeat the corresponding number of times for the size. Join with sl st. (9, 10, or 12 Puffs + ch-sp).

Step 3

ROUND 2: ch 1, *skip 1, 1 V-Puff in the next ch-1 space, skip 1* repeat around. Join with sl st. (9, 10, or 12 V-Puffs).

Step 4

ROUNDS 3-6 (Body): ch 1, skip 1, *V-Puff in the next ch-1 space, skip 2* repeat around. Join with sl st. Continue up to R6 (or more, if desired).

Step 5

FASTEN OFF AND PREPARATION: Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail. Insert the plastic sphere or old ornament into the crocheted piece.

Step 6

CLOSING: Using the yarn needle, thread the long tail through the front loop only of each stitch around the opening. Pull gently to close the gap. Secure and weave in the end. Finished!
