Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
BAG BASE: With White yarn (A) and 8 mm hook, ch 13. Work sc rows until piece measures 12” (30 cm). On the last row, 2 sc in the last stitch to prepare for working in the round.

Step 2
BODY AND SCARF: Work 82 sc around the base. Crochet 2” in White. Switch to Red (B) for the integrated 'scarf' and crochet 1½”. Keep working in a spiral without joining rounds.

Step 3
FACE AND HAT START: Switch to White (A) and crochet 6½” for the face section. Then, switch to Black (C) and crochet 2” to start the hat base.

Step 4
TOP OF THE HAT: Switch to Red (B) and crochet 2½”. Work one round of [1 sc, ch 1, skip 1] to create drawstring eyelets. Finish with 4 rounds of sc in back loops (BLO).

Step 5
CARROT NOSE: Using double strand Orange (E) and 6 mm hook: R1: 3 sc in MR. R2: 6 sc. R3: 9 sc. R4: 9 sc. Stuff lightly and sew to the center of the white face.

Step 6
CHEEKS AND MOUTH: With Pink (D), crochet two circles (R1: 6 sc, R2: 12 sc). Sew to the sides of the nose. Embroider the mouth with dots or a curved line using Black yarn (C).

Step 7
SCARF DETAILS: Crochet a separate 6” strip in Black (C). Tie a decorative knot and sew it over the red stripe of the bag. Add 15 cm fringes at the ends for realism.

Step 8
CLOSURE AND POMPOMS: Crochet a 36” Red cord and weave it through the hat eyelets. Make two large pompoms and attach them to the ends of the cord. Place safety eyes above the nose.
