Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Abbreviations: inc = increase, sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet, csc = centered single crochet, csec = centered single extended crochet, ic = invisible closure.

Step 2

Base (Rnds 1-3): Rnd 1: Use white yarn and a 16cm base. Work (1 sc, 1 inc) × 20 (63 sc) and close with ic. Rnd 2: 63 sl st. Rnd 3: 63 sc and close with ic.

Step 3

Body (Rnds 4-11): With the same white yarn, work 63 csc (working into the center of the previous round's stitches) in a spiral. Close Rnd 11 with ic and fasten off.

Step 4

Body (Rnd 12): Fasten off. Join military green yarn at Rnd 10 and work: (1 csec, ch 2, 1 csec in same st, ch 2, skip 3 base sts). Repeat forming 'V's and join with sl st. Fasten off.

Step 5

Fantasy Edging (Rnd 13): Join mottled yarn over a 'V'. Picking up Rnds 11 and 12 together: ch 3, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 sc, ch 1, 2 dc. Skip 4 base sts and repeat to end. Join with sl st.
