Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

HANDS (x2): Start with a MR. R1: 8 sc (8). R2: [3 sc, 1 inc] x2 (10). R3-R6: 10 sc. Close by joining opposite stitches with sc to flatten the piece. Cut and secure.

Step 2

LEGS AND JOINING: Legs (x2): R1: 8 sc in MR. R2: 8 inc (16). R3: 16 sc. R4 (Joining): Crochet 16 sc on the 1st leg and 16 sc on the 2nd leg (32 sts total).

Step 3

LOWER BODY: R5-R6: 32 sc. R7: [7 sc, 1 inc] x4 (36). R8-R12: 36 sc. Stuff firmly as you go.

Step 4

JOINING ARMS: R13: Crochet 8 sc, then 4 sc through both (hand + body), 12 sc, 4 sc through both (hand + body), 8 sc (36). R14-R17: 36 sc.

Step 5

BODY CLOSURE: R18-R21: [4 sc, 1 dec] x6 (30); [3 sc, 1 dec] x6 (24); [2 sc, 1 dec] x6 (18); [1 sc, 1 dec] x6 (12). R22: 6 dec (6). Close and fasten off.

Step 6

EARS AND SCARF: Ears (x2): In MR work: ch 2, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc, ch 2, 1 sl st. Scarf: Work 3 sc strips in rows until desired length (approx. 40 rows), folding at the start to create a crossover loop.

Step 7

ASSEMBLY: Embroider eyes on R15 (6 sts apart). Sew ears between R18-R20. Add the scarf and a small decorative bow under the ear. Done!
