Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

MATERIALS: Size 4/6 yarn in 5 colors and 3.5 mm hook. The blanket measures 160x75 cm.

Step 2

START: With pastel pink yarn, chain 227 + 3 chains to turn.

Step 3

ROUND 1 (Side 1): Starting from the 4th ch, work 4 dc. Repeat 36 times: [ch 1, skip 1, 5 dc].

Step 4

ROUND 1 (Corner & Return): In the last ch, work: [ch 3, 1 dc, ch 3, 1 dc]. Turn and work the opposite side, repeating the pattern. Close with sl st.

Step 5

ROUND 2 (Side): Start with ch 3. Work 1 dc over each stitch on the side.

Step 6

ROUND 2 (Corners): Work 5 dc over the 1st ch 3 space. Then 1 dc over the base dc, and 5 dc over the 2nd ch 3 space. Repeat on the other corner and close with sl st.

Step 7

REPEAT: Continue the pattern in circular rounds to create 8 strips. (2 pink, 2 lilac, 2 blue, 2 green).

Step 8

ASSEMBLY: Join all 8 strips by hand sewing using the dark gray yarn, alternating the color order.

Step 9

FRINGE: Cut 7 gray and 6 strip-color strands (30 cm). Fold and tie them into the ch 3 space of the last round at each end.
