Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Abbreviations: ch = chain, sl st = slip stitch, sc = single crochet, hdc = half double crochet, dc = double crochet, tr = treble crochet, sp = space.

Step 2

Large Motif (Colors 1-6): Make 6. Rnd 1: ch 6, (3 dc, ch 3) x 3, 2 dc. Rnds 2-10: work sequences of dc and ch in spaces to form a 30.5 cm square.

Step 3

Heart Motif (Colors 1-5): Make 12. Rnds 1-2 form the center. Rnds 3-4 form the petals/heart with tr. Rnd 5 makes the corners. (15 cm).

Step 4

Flower Motif (Colors 1-4): Make 8. Rnd 1: 10 dc. Rnd 2: inc (20 dc). Rnds 3-6: form petals with tr and corners using sc, hdc, and dc. (15 cm).

Step 5

Small Motif (Colors 1-3): Make 60 (36 E, 24 F). Rnd 1: ch 6, (3 dc, ch 3) x 3, 2 dc. Rnds 2-3: expand the square traditionally ending at 10 cm.

Step 6

Finishing: Block all Grannys, manage tension, and use long yarn tails (106.5 or 61 cm) to sew the motifs together with a tapestry needle following the assembly diagram.
