Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Introduction (Front): With white yarn, ch 97 + 2 ch to turn. Work 1 hdc in 4th ch from hook and 1 hdc in each ch to end.
Step 2
Rows 2 to 5: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each hdc.
Step 3
Rows 6 to 8: Work 12 hdc. In the 12th st, switch to blue yarn, carrying the white over the base sts. Work 1 hdc in blue. Switch to white and work 11 hdc. Repeat 1 blue, 11 white sequence five times. End with 1 blue and 12 white.
Step 4
Rows 9 and 10: Work 11 hdc. In 11th st, switch to blue, skip 1 st and work 1 puff st, 2 ch, 1 puff st. Switch to white, work 9 hdc. Repeat sequence five times. Switch to blue, skip 1 st, 1 puff st, ch 2, 1 puff st. Switch to white and end with 11 hdc.
Step 5
Continue repeating the wheat pattern interleaving and aligning with the puff stitches (puff st) so the design grows vertically to the full height.
Step 6
Back part: Make the back using the same base measurements, working completely in hdc with white yarn or desired pattern.
Step 7
Final Assembly: Fold the piece and place the 53x48 cm cushion insert inside. Work 1 round of sc in white around the edge. Then 1 round of sc in deep blue, closing the piece at the same time. Congratulations!
