Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
Materials: Cotton Yarn 8/4 Black and gray, Stuffing, Crochet hook 3 mm, Yarn needle, 2 pipe cleaners for stability in the shaft, Rattle/musicbox, preferable 30 mm.

Step 2
Head of the hammer (Gray): 1: sc 6 in magic ring (6). 2: *inc* x 6 (12). 3: *sc 1, inc* x 6 (18). 4: *sc 2, inc* x 6 (24). 5: *sc 3, inc* x 6 (30).

Step 3
6: sc 30 - in the back loop only (30). 7-10: sc 30 (30). 11: sc 30 - in the back loop only (30). (Insert rattle).

Step 4
12: *sc 3, dec* x 6 (24). 13: sc 24 (24). 14: *sc 2, dec* x 6 (18). 15-16: sc 18 (18). 17: *sc 2, inc* x 6 (24). 18: *sc 3, inc* x 6 (30). 19-28: sc 30 (30). 29: *sc 3, dec* x 6 (24). Stuff the hammerhead firmly.

Step 5
The first claw: 30: sc 12, push it flat and make a single crochet in the first stich of the round (12). 31-39: sc 12 (12).

Step 6
40: *dec, sc 4* x 2 (10). 41-42: sc 10 (10). 43: Stuff the first claw firmly. Push it flat and sew it together. Cut the yarn and weave it in.

Step 7
The second claw: Start in round 30, where you left the 12 stiches unworked. During the following rounds you will have to continually stuff the claw. 1-9: sc 12 (12).

Step 8
11: *dec, sc 4* x 2 (10). Keep stuffing while crocheting along. 12-13: sc 10 (10). 14: Stuff firmly. Push it flat and sew it together. If needed sew the small hole between the claws.

Step 9
Shaft (Black): If using pipe cleaners, we advise to stuff during the rounds. 1: sc 6 in mr (6). 2: *inc* x 6 (12). 3: *sc 1, inc* x 6 (18). 4-19: sc 18 (18). 20: dec, sc 16 (17). 21-29: sc 17 (17).

Step 10
30: dec, sc 15 (16). 31-39: sc 16 (16). 40: dec, sc 14 (15). 41-44: sc 15 (15). Change color to gray.

Step 11
45: sc 15 - in the back loop only (15). 46-55: sc 15 (15). Cut the yarn, leave enough to sew the shaft to the head later. Bend the two pipe cleaners in half and join the ends together.

Step 12
Put the pipe cleaners in the shaft and fill the rest with stuffing. This is a difficult task, try a pen or thick regular needle. The shaft should be stuffed firmly. Sew the shaft to the head.
