Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
You will need a crochet hook (any size you prefer) and the following colors: scarlet (A), orange (B), yellow (C), emerald (D), blue (E), mulberry (F), dark violet (G).

Step 2
We will use the abbreviation <de3jun> when needed: decrease 2 stitches by working the next 3 double crochets together. Abbreviations: DC (double crochet), CH (chains).

Step 3
With yarn A (scarlet), make 58 chains.

Step 4
Foundation row (wrong side): 1 dc in the second chain from the hook, 1 dc in each chain, turn. (57 dc).

Step 5
Row 1: Ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 27 dc, <de3jun>, 1 dc in each of the remaining 27 dc, turn. (55 dc).

Step 6
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 26 dc, <de3jun>, 1 dc in each of the remaining 26 dc, turn. (53 dc).

Step 7
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 25 dc, <de3jun>, 1 dc in each of the remaining 25 dc, turn. (51 dc).

Step 8
Row 4: Ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 24 dc, <de3jun>, 1 dc in each of the remaining 24 dc, turn. (49 dc). Fasten off yarn A.

Step 9
Join yarn B. Continue the established pattern, making <de3jun> over the 3 central stitches in each row. Change colors as follows: Work 4 rows in B, 4 in C, 4 in D, 4 in E, and 4 in F.

Step 10
Join yarn G and continue the pattern until 3 dc remain. On the next row, make a <de3jun>. Secure the yarn.
