Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
The beret is worked in spiral. We will use double crochet (Dc), single crochet (Sc), decrease (Dec), and slip stitch (Sl st).
Step 2
We start with a magic ring of 6 single crochets.
Step 3
In the 1st round: Repeat 6 times a single crochet and a double crochet in the same stitch.
Step 4
In round 2: Repeat 12 times a single crochet and a double crochet in the same stitch.
Step 5
In round 3: Repeat 12 times a single crochet and a double crochet in the same stitch.
Step 6
In round 4: Repeat 24 times a single crochet and a double crochet in the same stitch.
Step 7
From rounds 5 to 9: Repeat 12 times a single crochet and a double crochet in the same stitch.
Step 8
In round 10: Repeat 12 times 2 single crochets and 1 decrease in the same stitch.
Step 9
In round 11: Make a slip stitch in each stitch.
Step 10
Trim the yarn and the beret is ready. It will have a diameter of 58 cm. For a smaller diameter, you can use 23/64 inch needles.
