BASE (R1-R3): Crochet with 8 strands. R1: 6 sc. R2: 6 inc (12 sc). R3: [1 inc, 1 sc] x 6 (18 sc).

Step 2

BASE (R4-R6): R4: [2 sc, 1 inc] x 6 (24 sc). R5: [1 inc, 3 sc] x 6 (30 sc). R6: Increase to 36 sc.

Step 3

BASE (R7-R9): R7: Increase to 42 sc. R8: Increase to 48 sc. R9: Increase to 54 sc.

Step 4

BASE (R10-R12): R10: Increase to 60 sc. R11: Increase to 66 sc. R12: Increase to 72 sc. Measure diameter (should be 16 cm).

Step 5

CROWN (R13-R16): R13-R15: 72 sc (no inc). From R13, incorporate the plastic cord by crocheting over it. R16: [17 sc, 1 inc] x 4 (76 sc).
