Step 1

Materials and Sizing: DK weight yarn (category 3) in Blue, Yellow, Red, and White. 3.5 mm hook. Yarn needle. Fits cats weighing 3-5 kg (neck: 25-27 cm, head: 26-29 cm, ear distance: 5-5.5 cm). Leave 5-8 cm tails for securing ends.

Step 2

Hat Horns (make 1 Blue and 1 Yellow): Rnd 1: MR, 4 sc. Rnd 2: 4 sc. Rnd 3: *(1 sc, inc) repeat 2 times [6]. Rnd 4: ch 3, 6 dc. Rnd 5: ch 3, *(1 dc, inc) repeat 3 times [9]. Rnd 6: ch 3, 9 dc. Rnd 7: ch 3, *(1 dc, inc, dc) repeat 3 times [12]. Rnd 8: ch 3, *(3 dc, inc) repeat 3 times [15]. Rnd 9: ch 3, *(2 dc, inc, 2 dc) repeat 3 times [18]. Step 5

Collar Triangles (2 Yellow, 2 Red, 1 Blue): Rnd 1: ch 14, 11 dc. Rnd 2: Turn, ch 3, 1 dc-dec, 7 dc, 1 dc-dec [9]. Rnd 3: Turn, ch 3, 1 dc-dec, 5 dc, 1 dc-dec [7]. Rnd 4: Turn, ch 3, 1 dc-dec, 3 dc, 1 dc-dec [5]. Rnd 5: Turn, ch 3, 1 dc-dec, 1 dc, 1 dc-dec [3]. Rnd 6: Turn, ch 3, 3-dc-cl [1]. Step 6

Assembly: Sew the large red ball at the center join of the hat, and the small balls to the horn tips. Connect the 5 triangles by crocheting a white row of sc along the top edges (11 sc per triangle). Work an edging row of *(3 sc, 1 sl st) across. Sew the decorative pompons to the tips of each triangle.
