Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Materials and Sizes: Yarn in 4 colors (Main A and 3 for B,C,D motifs). 5 mm and 5.5 mm hooks. Sizes XS/S to 2/5XL. Gauge (5.5mm hook): Granny Square 10x10 cm (12 sc x 15 rows).

Step 2

Abbreviations (1/2): ch = chain. sc = single crochet. dc = double crochet. sl st = slip stitch. sp = space.

Step 3

Abbreviations (2/2): rep = repeat. rnd = round. RS = right side. WS = wrong side. Motif = Granny Square.

Step 4

Square Motif Rnd 1 (Color 1): With 5.5mm hook. Ch 4, close into a ring with sl st. Ch 6, (3 dc, ch 3) 3 times into ring. 2 dc. Close with sl st. (Leave 61 cm tail at the end of the motif for sewing).

Step 5

Square Motif Rnd 2: Slip stitch to ch-3 sp. Ch 6, 3 dc in same sp. Ch 1. *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next sp (corner), ch 1*. Rep 2 times. 2 dc in first sp. Close.

Step 6

Square Motif Rnd 3 & Quantities: Slip st to ch-3 sp. Ch 6, 3 dc in same sp. Ch 1, 3 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1. *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in corner, ch 1, 3 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1*. Rep 2 times. Close.

Step 7

Half Motifs (Yarn A): Row 1: Ch 4, close ring. Ch 4, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in ring. Turn. Row 2: Ch 4, 3 dc in ch-1 sp, ch 1. (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in corner. Ch 1, 3 dc in last sp. Ch 1, 1 dc. Turn.

Step 8

Front & Back Panel (XS/S): Join color A in bottom corner. Row 1: Ch 2, 1 dc in same sp. *2 dc around next post, 1 dc in ring*. Rep. (15 dc). Turn. Row 2: Ch 2, 3 dc in first dc, 1 dc in each dc (17 dc).

Step 9

Bottom Ribbing & Cuffs (5mm hook, Yarn A): Ribbing: Ch 11. Row 1: sc from 2nd ch (10 sc). Row 2: Ch 1, sc in back loop only. Repeat and sew to edge. Cuffs: Ch 8. Row 1: sc (7 sc). Row 2: sc in back loop.

Step 10

Neckline & Assembly: Neckline: Ch 5. Row 1: sl st (4 sl st). Row 2: sl st in back loop. Join motifs with flat slip stitch through back loop. Block before sewing. Join sleeves, panels, cuffs, ribbing, and neckline. Done!
