Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Abbreviations: ch = chain, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet, sl st = slip stitch, inc = increase, dec = decrease.
Step 2
Square (Rnd 1): With a 2.0 mm hook, make a Magic Ring. Rnd 1: ch 3, 1 sc, *ch 2, 3 sc*, repeat 2 times. ch 2, 1 sc, sl st to join.
Step 3
Square (Rnds 2-4): Rnds 2 to 4 follow diagram 1. Change color on Rnds 1 to 3 as you like. Rnd 4 must be in Off-White. Join squares as you go with 1 sc.
Step 4
Top (Assembly): Join 20 squares (5x4) following the layout. Finishing A: With Off-White, work the top and bottom edges (Rnds 1-2 of diag 2).
Step 5
Top (Fit): Thread a double strand of elastic thread through the finishing rounds of the top and bottom to create a light gather that fits the body.
Step 6
Skirt (Assembly): Join 100 squares following the layout. Waistband (Finishing B): Work the top edge in Off-White following Rnds 1-4 of diag 3 in the round.
Step 7
Skirt (Waist): Cut two 60 cm pieces of elastic. Sew them to the waistband on the wrong side of the garment using a sewing machine for better support.
Step 8
Lining: Since both pieces are fitted to the body, cut and attach a knit fabric lining individually to the Top and Skirt on the inside.
