Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Materials & Sizes: Mercerized cotton or bamboo blend yarn (medium weight, 1700m - 2700m). 4mm hook. Sizes XS to 5XL. Gauge: 16 sts x 16 rows = 10 cm in pattern stitch.

Step 2

Abbreviations (1/2): ch = chain. sc = single crochet. dc = double crochet. hdc = half double crochet.

Step 3

Abbreviations (2/2): dc2tog = double crochet 2 together (decrease). sl st = slip stitch. inc = increase (work 2 sts in same base st). dec = decrease. tr = treble crochet.

Step 4

Front R1-32: Ch 71 to 121 according to size. R1 (RS): 1 sc in 2nd ch, (1 dc, 1 sc). Repeat to end (70 to 120 sts). R2 to 32: Ch 1, alternate 1 sc and 1 dc following the established pattern.

Step 5

Front R33-37 (Increases): R33: inc 1 st at the end. R35: inc 1 st at the beginning and 1 at the end. R37: inc 1 st at the end. Work straight until piece measures 33 to 38 cm (depending on size).

Step 6

Front Lace Yoke: sl st initial sts according to size. R1: dc2tog, ch 1. R3: dec over ch space and next st. Repeat 12 to 16 times. Shape neckline with center dec and work shoulders separately (2 rows).

Step 7

Back: Work exactly the same as the front until the start of the yoke. Repeat the lace mesh rows 14 to 18 times. Shape the back neckline using the same technique as the front and fasten off.

Step 8

Sleeves (Top-down): Ch 69 to 85. Work the body pattern stitch for 5 to 9 rows. dec on both sides at the start of the sleeve. Continue according to the size until reaching the indicated length.

Step 9

Ruffles (Sleeve and Yoke): Sleeve Ruffle: R1: alternating inc (2 dc, 1 dc). R2: inc in each st. R3: 1 dc, ch 1. R4: 1 sc. Yoke Ruffle (top edge of body): R1: sc with inc at ends. R2: dc with alternating inc. R3: tr with ch 1. R4: sc.

Step 10

Finishing & Neckline Edge: Block all pieces. Sew shoulders. Join sleeves under the yoke ruffle. Sew sides and sleeves. Neckline Edge: Join yarn at shoulder seam and work (1 sc, 1 picot, 1 sc) across. Done!
